
Linda Ghanimé

Linda Ghanimé has been a leader in environmental protection and sustainable development for nearly 40 years. She holds a degree in biogeography from McGill University and a master’s in environmental science from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Linda began her career in the private sector as an environmental specialist and later as a project manager. From 1991 to 1994, she coordinated a toxic waste disposal program for the Government of Québec. She then founded her own micro-enterprise, offering environmental assessment and management consulting services.
From 2001 to 2010, Linda worked with the United Nations, first in New York as an advisor on integrating environmental priorities into the policies of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and numerous member states. She later joined the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity and went on to carry out evaluation mandates for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Linda also served as a commissioner for the Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement (BAPE) during the review of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) project.
A resident of Magog, Linda has been actively involved in regional environmental initiatives. She has collaborated with the Association des propriétaires des Villas de l’Anse and served on the board of Memphrémagog Conservation Inc. (MCI).
Since 2017, she has been a member of the Appalachian Corridor Allocation Committee.
